Caio is a lawyer at Silveira Advogados with extensive experience in the industrial sector and professional associations.
He worked for several years as a legal consultant at Fiesp – Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo, which allowed him to participate in the preparation of legislative proposals in favor of the national industry, contributing to the definition of layout of block K of Sped, tax reform, project the judicial recovery law, the Municipal Taxpayer Defense Code in São Paulo, payroll tax relief and several other topics related to environmental legislation, industrial reduction of bureaucracy and anti-corruption measures.
In the judicial scenario, Caio has been prominent in tax litigation, contributing to decisions that excluded ICMS from the PIS and COFINS calculation basis for approximately 130 thousand industries in the State of São Paulo and also helped to avoid a loss of 20 billion/year for the industries and about 5 Billion/ao for the Tax Authorities, with its work together with the Attorney of the National Treasury in Brasília in defense of the IPI thesis on the resale of imported goods before the Superior Courts.
Its performance with external audits (big four), due diligence, in the preparation of executive, management and provisioning reports provided great knowledge of the national business scenario, allowing it to propose effective measures to solve its main obstacles.
In addition, he has already worked as a lawyer hired by the Attorney for Active Debt of the National Social Security Institute – INSS in São Paulo, an experience that provided him with the necessary expertise to reduce bureaucracy on many issues within the federal public service.
His more than 25 years of professional experience as a lawyer and legal coordinator allow him to assess the main risks of the business and present the appropriate solutions for the case, both inside and outside the judicial scene.
Always looking for his professional improvement, Caio is taking a Specialization course in Complication and Corporate Governance at the University of London, in addition to having a Specialization in Human Resources Management, Data Science Applied to Law, Business Law, Criminal Tax Law, Constitutional Law and Law Environmental
He is the author of several articles published on important legal websites such as Conjur e Migalhas and has been a member of the Tax and Fiscal Affairs Committee of the National Confederation of Industry (CNI) in Brasília and of the Special Committee on Tax Law of the Brazilian Bar Association in São Paulo is currently a member of Fecomercio in São Paulo on the entity’s Tax Affairs Council.
